Chimney Flue Liner Inspection
What Is It?
We joke that this is a “colonoscopy for your chimney”! A state-of-the-art digital camera is sent up the chimney flue to visually inspect the interior of the chimney for defects and to verify the integrity of the liner. Typical findings are cracks, gaps, and blockage that aren’t visible to the naked eye.
Who Should Order This Test?
A compromised chimney flue liner can pose a serious fire hazard. Anyone purchasing a home with a wood burning fireplace should consider this test.
What's Involved In Chimney Scanning?
This service is limited to fireplaces and other easily accessible flue liners (NOT applicable to appliance flues).
We do not disassemble furnace or water heater vent connectors to inspect the chimney liner.
If a chimney is too dirty, we may recommend a cleaning of the chimney before we can perform our inspection; Written findings and photos from the chimney scan will be included in the written inspection report.

Drone Camera

If you are unfamiliar with this technology, a drone camera inspection involves using advanced aerial cameras mounted on our drones to capture detailed images and videos of hard-to-reach areas. This process helps us to identify any potential problems without the need for costly and time-consuming manual inspections. We take great pride in our commitment to uncompromising safety, and we want all of our clients to feel reassured that they are working with a team of professionals who are highly trained, knowledgeable, and experienced.
We are pleased to inform you that all of our IPC (In-Plant Container) drone operators have obtained their FAA Part 117 license, which ensures that our team of experts is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate our drones safely and effectively.

Home Inspection Assist
What Is It?
If you have a large inspection scheduled, it can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry. We’re here to lend an extra hand and provide you with a professional who will go above and beyond to ensure that your inspection is thorough and accurate. Our licensed inspectors have years of experience under their belts, and they’re able to spot things that the untrained eye might miss.
Minimum Charge of $229 For Home Inspection Assist -- $89/hour each additional hour beyond 2 hours
Ladder Assist
What Is It?
When it comes to inspecting hard-to-reach places, sometimes a drone just won’t cut it. That’s where we come in. With our range of ladders, including 28, 32, and 40 foot options, we can provide a safe and stable means of accessing even the most elevated of areas. Our team will take care of the setup and stabilization of the ladder, leaving you free to focus on the task at hand. With our professional approach and commitment to safety, you can trust us to provide the support you need to complete your inspection with confidence.
Minimum Charge of $229 For Ladder Assist -- $89/hour each additional hour beyond 2 hours
This service includes only the ladder delivery and setup. No inspection service provided.
Radon testing
What Is It?
Who Should Order This Test?
- Radon is a health threat because it can accumulate in homes, sometimes to very high concentrations and can cause lung cancer. In fact, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking.
- Because it is naturally occurring, radon can occur at your neighbor’s house, but not yours, or vice versa. It exists regardless of a home’s foundation type. The EPA estimates that nearly one out of every 15 homes in the U.S. is estimated to have elevated radon levels. In Illinois, over 1/3 of homes that have been tested have elevated radon gas levels.
- Testing for radon provides you with the information you need to determine if mitigation is necessary.
What's Involved In Radon Tests?
- Tests are typically placed at the time of the inspection, but can also be placed earlier with homeowner permission;
- Radon tests are placed in the home for a minimum of 48 hours conducted under Closed Building Conditions that begin at least 12 hours prior to the start of the test and for the test’s duration;
- Test results will be emailed to client within 24 hours of completion of the radon test;
- Our radon testing is conducted with state-of-the-art, electronic continuous radon monitors, which provide unsurpassed accuracy and tamper prevention;
- All IPC Radon Technicians are licensed in the state of Illinois.

Sewer Survey
What Is It?
A certified technician sends a camera through the home’s sewer line from the clean-out to the city sewer to inspect the integrity of the sewer line. The technician will be looking for cracks or dips in the sewer pipe, clogging of the line by tree roots or flushed debris and other situations that may indicate the potential for sewer backups.
Who Should Order This Test?
As a homeowner, it’s important to be aware that the responsibility of maintaining the sewer line falls on you. Any issues that require more than just a regular cleaning can result in costly expenses.
What's Involved In Sewer Survey?
- Ample access to an interior or exterior cleanout at the home must be available. A show-up fee will be assessed if scan is cancelled at time of inspection for lack of access.
- A written report detailing the findings of the technician will be provided. Frequently, a video of the scan, narrated by the technician’s findings, may accompany the written report.

Thermal Imaging
What Is It?
When it comes to evaluating a home’s structural integrity, few methods are as advanced and reliable as thermal imaging. With the use of state-of-the-art thermal imaging cameras, expert inspectors can take photos of various areas of a home, providing an accurate temperature picture of its structure. From identifying cold or hot spots to detecting hidden moisture, thermal imaging offers a wealth of valuable information.
Who Should Order Thermal Imaging?
Temperature variations can be indicative of issues such as moisture behind walls, hot spots in the wiring or missing insulation. Thermal Imaging can be useful in identifying issues that are not apparent to the naked eye, or even catch issues such as a leaking toilet before they become problems.
What's Involved In Thermal Imaging?
- Thermal Imaging goes beyond the moisture meter used in the standard inspection to provide in-depth knowledge of the condition of the home’s structure;
- Findings from the thermal imaging session will be included in the written inspection report.
